Service Description
Requiring accuracy in Harmonized System (HS) classification globally is a necessity, yet one of the most difficult tasks corporations face today. The 5-day Certified Classification Specialist (CCLSTM) course addresses this challenge and offer companies the opportunity to train multiple key personnel together to ensure a systematic approach is taken to properly classify all product lines. This course provides a detailed approach to mastering the use of the Harmonized System (HS), ensuring accuracy for classification on a global basis AND defending your classification decision with any customs agency around the world. Focus is on the correct classification of product at the heading level, with sections highlighted to support a classifier to seek and secure necessary product descriptions to ensure proper classification. Specialized focus will ensure any classifier can work through section and chapter notes with ease by interpreting and highlighting the most difficult sections. Earning the CCLS designation supports a strong compliance program and moves a company toward a strong reasonable care process that is defendable for customs purposes. As classification is the basis of most free trade agreement qualifications, participants will be well suited to develop a program with greater benefits to the company. Participants will also get a deeper review into specific subject categories for the following commodity groups: o Chemical, minerals, pharmaceuticals o Parts and accessories of plastic, rubber, glass and metal o Machinery and electronics o Textiles Automotive classifications Participants may send in their top HS classification codes up to 2 weeks prior to course start date. What you will learn: After completing this certification course, you will be able to: o Discuss the General Rules of Interpretation o Discuss the HS and how it is organized o Discuss the HS numbers and proper coding o Discuss Sanction and Chapter Notes, which have meaning “throughout the tariff.” o Identify “basket headings o Discuss identification of external classification guidance, such as Explanatory Notes o Address and prepare effective Binding Ruling Requests o Document and defend your classification o Discuss “difficult to classify merchandise,” including kits This course includes “knowledge checks” that allow participants to demonstrate they’ve mastered the material.
Cancellation Policy
If you have registered for one of SNCG’s Academy of Global Trade trainings, classes and/or certifications but are unable to attend, please see the below policies regarding cancellations, transferring a registration to a future session, and substitutions. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are accepted in writing via email (to JonathanCanioni@sn-cg.com) or by telephone. An email confirming the cancellation will be sent by SNCG. For a full refund, written cancellations must be received 15 business days prior to the start date of the training. Cancellations received under 15 business days of the course start date are not entitled to a refund, though the participant may transfer to a future course, or allow a colleague to attend in their place. Transfer Policy: If you cannot attend a scheduled course, Participants may transfer a registration to another SNCG training. Transfers are accepted in writing via email (JonathanCanioni@sn-cg.com). An email confirming the transfer will be sent by SNCG. Transferred credit for future training is valid for 12 months from the time of the original training. Transfers can be made up to 10 business days prior to the original training’s start date. Course Cancellations: If the course, class, training or session is canceled by SN-CG, a full refund or transfer to another course will be provided. Substitution Policy: Substitutions are accepted in writing email (JonathanCanioni@sn-cg.com) by providing the name of the current registrant and the name of the substitute. An email confirming the substitution will be sent by SNCG. • Substitutions may be made up to 15 business days prior to the training start date.
